In the natural habitats of shrimp and crayfish, fallen leaves play an important role in their diet. The animals love to graze on decomposing leaves and the biofilm growing on them.
For a biologically balanced diet, a vegetarian diet should therefore be a regular part of the menu for all shrimp and crayfish. The leaves of the Indian coral tree, known as ‘Dadap’ in their native habitat, are 100% natural and an ideal dietary supplement for all freshwater dwarf shrimp. The leaves are freshly picked, hand-selected and gently dried. They are characterised by a high content of essential vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids and plant enzymes.
Furthermore, they provide valuable, digestion-promoting fibre. Due to their high protein content of approx. 30%, they are popularly used as high-quality livestock feed in their native countries. As a natural supplementary feed, ShrimpKing Dadap Leaves are ideal for adding variety and supplementing the main diet.
The dry leaves soak up water in the aquarium and sink to the bottom within 1–2 days.
A biofilm of bacteria, fungi and other micro-organisms forms on the surface, which ferments (pre-digests) the leaf tissue.
This natural growth is eagerly grazed upon by the shrimp. It contains all the nutrients and building blocks they need on a daily basis. The fibres in the leaves act as dietary fibre and promote healthy digestion. Valuable phytochemicals strengthen the body’s own defences and support healthy development.
