Oak leaves dried

The dried oak leaves are the ideal permanent food for shrimps, dwarf shrimps, crayfish, crabs and snails.

Due to the hard leaf structure of the oak leaves, it takes a long time until it is eaten by the invertebrates and thus serves at the same time as an ideal hiding place, for many young animals in the aquarium.

Also larger crayfish and crab species, as well as some catfish species love to crush the oak leaves.

Due to the very high tannic acid content in the oak leaves, the leaves can also have a slight pH lowering effect and also help effectively against spawn fungus in the aquarium.

The tannins of the oak leaves, can slightly yellowish to brownish color the aquarium water.
